UN Women: ACCU Joins Dialogue on Increased Women’s Economic Opportunities & Rights

Upon the invitation of the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific, the CEO of ACCU, Elenita San Roque, shared inputs on the topic of Women’s Access to Micro-finance and Credit Unions at the “Regional Consultation on Increased Women’s Economic Opportunities and Rights in ASEAN” on 10th – 11th November 2015 in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Building on the progress towards gender equality and women’s economic empowerment in the region, the UN Women consulted key stakeholders on the topic of Women’s Economic Opportunities in ASEAN regional program. The program focused on strategies for women’s economic empowerment at the ASEAN level with specific national interventions in Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar and Vietnam.
The Regional Consultation provided platform for constructive dialogues and solicited expert opinions. Inputs from the consultation will serve to strengthen the UN Women’s strategic engagement and partnerships in the ASEAN region.
